Flow State
Read the ride. Choose one cue. Stay adaptable.
Bishop Circuits monitor fit and recalibrate.
1Read the demand
About 60 seconds to prime · while stopped
This situation asks: Sustain a supportable effort while staying responsive to course changes and felt effort.
2Read your processing
Choose your observed emphasis—not your ideal.
3Choose the smallest shift
MIND check · What is showing up? Optional
Test the cue · expectation, comparison, and reopening
These are editable planning examples, not predicted or guaranteed results. Capture the expectation before the performance interval.
Capture freezes your choices and expectation for a separate review. It does not certify readiness or flow.
Set the cue while stopped; perform without the screen.Fit over forced balance.
Coordination over maximum activation.
Distinct contributions. Coordinated performance.
XL2 differentiates and integrates present experience and prior learning. Explore each contribution, then its relationship with the counterpart. The target is dynamic coherence—not equal weighting or a single “flow configuration.” [1, §6–12; 2, Movement 3]
Internal
Self-reference, memory, imagination, expectation, internal knowledge, personal values, private feeling, and internally generated meaning.
Grounding, continuity, and personally meaningful direction.
Your learned race references, intended role, personal purpose, and private experience contribute to the present choice.
A familiar interpretation can exclude what is changing outside you.
Internally grounded while externally connected.
Peak performance qualities · individual and collective value
The consultation’s eight qualitative criteria describe performance to examine; they are not items to total into a readiness or flow score. “Collective” here means the rider’s coordinated processing contributions, not a team diagnosis. [2, pp. 2 and 20]
Capacity fit
Can you support the proposed demand?Notice whether the action respects present capacity and constraints.
Processing completeness
Is anything material missing?Include relevant experience, current conditions, context, thinking, and feeling.
Dynamic coherence
Do distinct contributions work together?Look for coordination without erasing useful differences.
Contextual appropriateness
Does this fit the situation?Choose the configuration for current conditions, not habit or identity.
Provisional stability
Clear enough to act?Commit sufficiently without treating the decision as permanent.
Adaptive openness
Can the decision reopen?Identify a change that would justify revising the action.
Agency
Is responsible choice preserved?Keep your judgment and safe boundaries active.
Recursive learning
Will experience change what comes next?Compare expectation with consequence and carry learning forward.
From differentiated parts to one usable experience
The Master Reference describes the following functional sequence. Operations overlap, reverse, and recur; this is not a mechanical timeline. [1, §8–9]
Cycling translation: keep purpose, conditions, precision, context, thinking, and feeling distinguishable; relate what matters into a sufficiently coherent next action; learn from what follows. Stereopsis here names convergence into a common manifest experience, not a claim about cycling vision or measured neural activity.
Eight functional configurations · coordinates, not identities
These describe a current processing emphasis, not a permanent personality, diagnosis, brain scan, or flow level. The tool assigns a code only when you explicitly choose one pole in all three dimensions. “Both accessible” or “Unclear” remains uncompressed. [1, §6; 2, §3.5]
Seven consultation movements · compressed into a micro-cycle
1 · OrientName the cycling situation, purpose, stakes, and present demand.
2 · Examine BASISCheck available capacity, constraints, and support.
3 · Map XL2Notice emphasis, contribution, exclusion, and needed access.
4 · Observe MINDDescribe perception, feeling, judgment, and action.
5 · Examine Bishop Circuits governanceCheck fit; shift, inhibit, release, or reopen as needed.
6 · Integrate, Decide, and ActSelect a proportionate action and record its expected effect.
7 · Reflect and RecalibrateCompare consequence with expectation; retain, alter, stop, or try next.
Recurring cadence: Open → Focus → Integrate → Engage and Return. Bishop Circuits describe contextual functions throughout BASIS ⇄ XL2 ⇄ MIND, not a fourth layer. Praxis carries action into consequence and learning. [1, §12–13; 2, §III–VII]
Responsible use · flow is not proof of fit
Peak performance here means the conditionally appropriate use of available capacity and processing, not maximum effort, maximum activation, or a permanent peak state. A vivid or fluent experience does not establish completeness, safety, correctness, or benefit. [1, §11 and §17–19; 2, pp. 2–4]
The individual rider is the system boundary; teammates, competitors, and the surrounding environment are External to that rider. Cortical–thinking and subcortical–feeling are functional self-coaching labels here, not evidence that particular neural structures were measured. This tool does not equate subcortical processing with automatic motor skill or prescribe a brain state. [1, §6–7 and §30]
Cycling safeguard: do not interact with the tool while riding. Do not use absorption or felt ease to override hazards, depleted capacity, equipment concerns, or your qualified coaching and support team. This is an educational aid, not a riding-technique, medical, or physiological training prescription.
Return experience as learning.
Review while stopped. Compare what happened with the expectation captured beforehand; do not rewrite the original expectation to fit the result. [1, §20–23; 2, Movement 7]
Start with one captured plan.
Your Prime choices become a fixed reference here. A fluent ride is not automatically evidence that the cue helped.

Keep “felt flow” separate from observed performance. Supported expectations are not, by themselves, evidence of causation.

Source basis, application status, and limits
[1] SYNCOHERE MASTER REFERENCE 2.0 · supplied file, internal title “SYNCOHERE MASTER REFERENCE 082926.” Governing architecture and terminology: §3–13, pp. 4–11; performance and predictive discipline: §17–23, pp. 13–18; claims discipline and application boundaries: §30–32, pp. 25–27.
[2] SYNCOHERE-FACILITATED PEAK FLOW PERFORMANCE CONSULTATION 2.0 · supplied file, internal title “Syncohere-Facilitated Peak Flow Performance Consultation Tool.” Purpose, limits, and cadence: pp. 2–4; seven movements: pp. 6–22; readiness criteria: p. 20; safeguards: p. 25.
The Master Reference governs stable terminology. The consultation supplies the inquiry structure. Cycling situations, cues, qualitative controls, and observation prompts are application examples created for this micro-tool—not additional canonical definitions. The sources do not provide a validated cycling-flow protocol or cyclist-specific outcome data.
No flow score. No diagnosis. No guaranteed peak state. Use alone for orientation and self-coaching or alongside other Syncohere tools. Do not replace physical, environmental, or equipment problems with an exclusively internal-processing explanation.
