Flow State
Read the play. Choose one cue. Commit. Learn.
Bring your available capacity into the next play.
Quick reference: Read the situation and your capacity. Compare Internal ↔ External, Vertical ↔ Horizontal, and Cortical-thinking ↔ Subcortical-feeling with what the next play requires. Choose one small adjustment; act; compare the result with your expectation; recalibrate.
Interactive controls need JavaScript. Open the standalone HTML file in a browser or use an HTML embed that permits scripts. Use this tool only during safe breaks, not during live play.
Read → compare → prime

INFORMATIONWhere is your information coming from?
Integrated value: internally grounded, externally connected.
Polarity
SHAPINGHow are you shaping it? Converge to the thing or expand to the context.
Integrated value: a clear task within the wider play.
Loops
GUIDANCEWhat’s guiding your response? Thinking or feeling.
Integrated value: organized thinking informed by felt significance.
“Both accessible” ≠ equal weighting. Fit the situation; keep switching available. Self-description—not a neural measure or flow score. [1, 2]
Choose one small adjustment
Personalize the situation, expectation & reopening trigger
Set an expectation before acting. Compare it with what actually happens, including misses and other explanations. A successful outcome alone does not prove the cue caused it. [1]
One cue. This play.
PERFORM → RETURNChoose a role cue or compare one XL2 dimension in Prime. Set your cue there; it will appear here with your expectation and reopening trigger.
Take the cue into play—not the screen. Recheck when the situation changes; do not force a state that no longer fits.

Reflect → recalibrate
PRAXIS · EXPERIENCE ↔ LEARNINGSet your play cue first so your reflection can compare an expectation recorded before action with what followed.

Uncertainty & alternative explanations
Record a miss without rewriting the original expectation. Treat this as one observation, not proof of a performance effect. [1, 2]
Copy or export before replacing a play record. Nothing is saved automatically.
Distinct strengths. Coordinated play.
CORE REFERENCECohesive polarization: preserve each contribution’s distinct value, then coordinate its emphasis with the task. This applied wording joins the references’ polarization and integration concepts; it does not mean forcing every pole to be equal. [1, 2]
IE · Grounded & connectedPreparation stays available while present game information can update the response.
VH · Defined & contextualThe next task is clear without losing the surrounding play.
CS · Organized & meaningfulThinking gives direction; feeling informs importance and motivation.
Capacity ⇄ integration of experience & learning ⇄ lived expression
Bishop Circuits monitor fit and recalibrate throughout.
Praxis returns action and consequences as learning. [1, 2]
Peak Flow Performance qualities · no numerical score
These are the sources’ conceptual performance qualities—not a validated flow index. Peak performance is not maximum effort, maximum activation or a permanent peak state. [1, 2]
How XL2 brings distinct contributions into one response
Polarization preserves difference. Synthesization assembles differentiated contributions. Reification forms a recognizable thing, event, problem or meaning.
Integration makes the organization function as a whole while preserving distinctions. Consolidation stabilizes it enough to be usable. Stereopsis, in the framework’s terminology, converges differentiated contributions into a common manifest experience. MIND manifests the resulting perception, meaning, judgment and agency. [1, pp. 7–9]
Softball translation: distinguish preparation, actual game information, the defined task, wider context, organized intention and felt significance; relate them into one usable read; act; then let consequences revise that read. This is a proposed functional interpretation—not a measured neural sequence. Operations overlap and recur rather than proceeding mechanically.
Eight configurations · temporary coordinates, not identities
No code is a universal softball flow state. A pole may appropriately dominate when the demand requires it. This tool does not assign a code or infer neural activation from your answers. [1, 2]
How this micro-cycle fits the full consultation
Source cadence: Open → Focus → Integrate → Engage and Return.
Seven movements: Orient → Examine BASIS → Map XL2 → Observe MIND → Examine Bishop Circuits Governance → Integrate, Decide, and Act → Reflect and Recalibrate. [2]
Micro-tool translation: Read the situation and capacity; compare processing with demand; notice what is manifesting; introduce one useful counterpart; take a proportionate action; observe the result; return it as learning. The XL2 comparison is one component of this larger architecture, not a replacement for it.
Collective connection: Your cue can support an agreed team responsibility. Team coherence must be observed in actual communication and coordination; it cannot be inferred by averaging individual self-descriptions. [1]

Applied examples: All softball role prompts, cue suggestions, interface choices and observation examples in this micro-tool are proposed translations of those references. They are not source-established softball prescriptions, a standardized test, a neurological classification or evidence that the tool induces flow.
Functional shorthand: Cortical-thinking and Subcortical-feeling name the framework’s functional emphases here. Thinking is not inherently interference, and feeling is not a synonym for automatic motor skill. Self-report does not measure neural activity.
Boundaries: Use only during safe breaks. Do not use this tool to override safety concerns, fatigue limits, team responsibilities, rules, coaching decisions or medical direction. Capacity, skill and environmental constraints are not automatically processing problems.
Privacy: This tool adds no tracking, network transmission or persistent storage. Entries remain in this page’s memory until it is closed or reset; copy/export creates a record only when requested. Your host website may have separate analytics.
