GOLF · FLOW & PERFORMANCE PRACTICE
Read the moment.
Play the next shot.
Check capacity. Read the course. Choose a strategy. Practice the shifts that connect a clear plan with purposeful action.
Learn the framework & how to play
Choose a scenario, complete its checkpoints, and play a simulated shot. Four, five, six, or eight checkpoints organize the same eight learning actions into shorter or more separated groups. Photographs with labels or word phrases change the activity cards. Guided mode offers the concept before an answer; Challenge mode reveals it through feedback. There is no time limit or speed bonus.
BASIS · Supporting capacity
Brain Architecture Substrate Interconnected System. Physical structures, pathways, resources, capacity, reserve, and operating conditions.
Golf application: check whether the present demand fits available energy and readiness. Equipment and course conditions also matter to the task, but they are not the golfer’s biological BASIS.
XL2 · Functional integration
Experience and Learning-Integrated. Relate present experience to prior learning and revise the plan as needed.
Locality: Internal ↔ External. Polarity: Vertical ↔ Horizontal. Loops: Cortical ↔ Subcortical.
The poles are complementary emphases, not fixed types, a required 50/50 balance, or measured brain states.
MIND · Accessible experience
Manifest Integrated Neural Dynamics. What becomes experienced as perception, feeling, meaning, intention, choice, and response.
Notice what happened and how it registered. Feed that experience back into the next plan rather than treating one result as a final verdict.
The three XL2 questions
Locality
Where is your information coming from? Internal learning includes your practiced pattern, remembered experience, and values. External information includes the current lie, slope, wind, and visible consequences. Relate them.
Polarity
How are you shaping it? Horizontal processing explores context and alternatives. Vertical processing specifies a target, prioritizes, and reaches sufficient closure. Reopen when something relevant changes.
Loops
What’s guiding your response? Cortical emphasizes organized, goal- and model-based thinking. Subcortical emphasizes felt salience, value, urgency, and motivation. Neither alone describes all of a skilled swing.
The four MIND areas
What is encountered; how its effect registers and persists.
What receives priority; the frame and direction of attention.
What must be carried; the means available to act.
What processes are used; how the activity is organized.
Prime, perform, reflect, recalibrate. Bishop Circuits names contextual oversight throughout the architecture: noticing a mismatch, changing emphasis, and reopening when needed. Praxis carries the plan into action and returns consequences as learning. These operations can overlap and recur.
Game controls. Tap or click choices. On the planner, use the aim and shot-strength sliders, their keyboard arrow controls, or tap the map to set a starting aim and strength. Resolve the changing-condition prompt, then play. Optional target setup assistance is available. Shots use a deliberately simplified game model; map units, forecast, variation, and club behavior are not real-world carry calculations. The shaded target changes with your chosen strategy. A target reached is not necessarily a holed putt.
Scoring. The eight completed actions earn 100 completion points per scenario, up to 600 per round. All offered strategies earn the same completion credit. First-pass answers, retries, assistance, elapsed active time, and shot outcomes are recorded separately. Points measure task completion only—not flow, neural activity, or golf ability.
Practice setting. An off-course educational game, not a golf rules or swing-technique course. It supports reflection on flow and performance without promising to produce either. No physical movement is required. Follow course safety and qualified coaching during actual play.
